Straily gave up two hits and struck out one in a shutout inning during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Cardinals.

He got the start in his spring debut for the Marlins, a further sign that Straily is ticketed for the rotation to begin the season and won't need to battle for a spot. After throwing a career-high 191.1 innings with the Reds last year, the 28-year-old will be counted on to take a regular turn for Miami, but he could have a hard time matching the career-best 14 wins, 3.76 ERA and 1.19 WHIP he also recorded in 2016.
