Chen (elbow) completed a bullpen session Wednesday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
Chen said that he would have his elbow reexamined by team trainers Thursday before a determination is reached on a potential return date. The Marlins have already ruled out Chen from returning this weekend, but if all goes well when he's reassessed Thursday, the lefty could be cleared to return to the mound when a fifth starter is needed next week.
