Dozier was designated for assignment Sunday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
With youngsters Andres Gimenez and Luis Guillorme helping the Mets more than they were expected to, the team no longer has a need for Dozier. The 33-year-old second baseman was on his second team of the year after things didn't work out in San Diego.
