McFarland cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
McFarland is no longer on the Mets' 40-man roster but it appears he will remain in the organization. The veteran left-hander has posted a 5.40 ERA over three relief appearances at the big-league level in 2023.
