Solis (elbow) will report to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

Solis hasn't made an appearance since April 18 after experiencing nerve inflammation in his elbow, but after throwing multiple bullpen sessions and facing hitters over the last week or so, he's ready to return to game action. Given that he's been sidelined for nearly two months, Solis could remain on assignment with Syracuse for close to the full 20-day window. If Solis pitches effectively initially upon being activated, he could move up the depth chart quickly with the Nationals bullpen lacking in quality arms.
