Nationals' Stephen Drew: Will need rehab assignment

Drew (hamstring) is expected to head out on a rehab assignment before returning to the Nationals, Chelsea Janes of the Washington Post reports.

Drew was seen taking batting practice and fielding grounders Tuesday, so it appears he's nearing a return to game action. With starting shortstop Trea Turner back from the disabled list himself, Drew doesn't appear to have a clear path to regular at-bats once he's eventually activated from the DL. More should be known about a possible return date once Drew is sent out on his rehab assignment.
