Davis (hand) is not in the Orioles' lineup Wednesday against the Rays.
Davis departed Tuesday's game with soreness in his palm, an ailment he admitted has been bothering him since early in the season. While Davis said Tuesday that he expected to play Wednesday, he'll be held out of the lineup as the Orioles attempt to avoid further aggravating the palm issue. Steve Pearce will get the start at first base Wednesday.
