Rickard will begin the season on the Orioles' 25-man roster, Roch Kubatko of MASN reports.
Last season's spring surprise impressed again this year by slashing .302/.464/.491 in 30 spring games, ultimately forcing the Orioles to reward him with another trip to the big leagues. Barring any extraneous circumstances, this move seems to have Rickard in line to be on the small side of a platoon with Hyun Soo Kim in left field.
