Blanco is a lock for a bench spot with the Phillies, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Blanco saw playing time at all four infield spots with the Phillies last season and even made a start in left. He will again be the team's primary utility infielder, but he has virtually no chance of stepping into a starting role for an extended stretch should any of the guys in front of him get hurt. The Phillies have younger players awaiting opportunities should something open up.
