Garcia signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Thursday, Bryce Miller of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Garcia spent much of spring training with the Tigers, but he was released on March 25. He'll now head to the alternate site for the Phillies and has an opt-out date of May 2 if he is not added to the big-league roster.
