The Phillies have been scouting the Marlins' Gulf Coast League squad in preparation for a possible Hellickson trade, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
The Marlins were among the suitors for Hellickson even before losing Wei-Yin Chen to the disabled list with a sprained left elbow. The Marlins' farm system is pretty weak, so it makes sense that the Phils would be scouting the low minors looking for high-upside talent. The Orioles, Pirates and Giants are also rumored to have interest in Hellickson.
