Phillies' Joaquin Benoit: Frustrated after allowing five runs Wednesday

Benoit was tagged with his second loss of the season after allowing five runs on three hits in one-third of an inning Wednesday against the Mariners.

Benoit expressed some frustration after the game about the undefined roles in the Phillies' bullpen. He told Corey Seidman of CSN Philadelphia that he believes "it would be better if everybody knows what the role is and when you're going to contribute." Benoit was working the seventh inning Wednesday, but has been used in a setup role and to close games this season. Manager Pete Mackanin hasn't been able to set defined roles because none of his pitchers have seized the closing gig when given an opportunity.
