Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Earns eighth win Friday

Velasquez picked up his eighth win of the season Friday in a 5-3 victory over the Rockies. He allowed two runs on eight hits over six innings while walking two and striking out six.

Velasquez was on the hook for the loss when he left Friday's game, but Tommy Joseph delivered a pinch-hit three-run homer in the top of the seventh to give the Phillies the lead and Velasquez the win. Velasquez has three wins, a 2.12 ERA and a 20:4 K:BB in 17 innings since coming back from his biceps injury.
