Osuna will open the season with Triple-A Indianapolis, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Despite an impressive spring training performance, the Pirates decided to have the 24-year-old begin the season in the minors. His outlook does remain optimistic, as general manager Neal Huntington recently stated that Osuna may make his major-league debut in the first half of the season.
