Hoying went 4-for-4 with a double, a home run, three runs scored and two RBI in Wednesday's 9-3 win over the Phillies.

Hitting eighth in the order, Hoying paced a 17-hit Rangers attack with his first career major-league home run, a two-run shot in the fifth inning. The 28-year-old has spent most of the last five seasons at Triple-A, hitting 80 homers in 453 games for Round Rock, but he's getting a chance to show that he can stick in the big leagues with regular starts in center field in place of Carlos Gomez (hamstring).
