Ross (shoulder) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan reports.

There's been no word from the Rangers on how Ross's mound session went, but it nonetheless marks another step forward for the right-hander, who had been limited to flat-ground work since being scratched from an April 12 start at extended spring training due to back spasms. Assuming Ross came out of the bullpen session without any further setbacks to his back or shoulder, the Rangers could soon have him head back to extended spring training to face hitters and build up his arm strength. Even in a best-case scenario, however, Ross is still likely several weeks away from surfacing with the big club.
