Ramirez notched his second save by pitching a clean 10th inning in Sunday's season-ending 6-4 victory over the Rangers. He also recorded a strikeout.

After seeing Alex Colome blow his third save opportunity of the season in the ninth, Ramirez suddenly found himself in line for his second save of the campaign after the Rays took the lead in the top half of the 10th. Ramirez was able to set down Ryan Rua, Jurickson Profar and Delino DeShields in order, whiffing the latter to secure the extra-inning victory. The 26-year-old closes out the campaign with four consecutive scoreless efforts, and totaled 15 holds and two saves in a relief role in 2016. Despite a few hiccups along the way, Ramirez proved to be a valuable asset for the Rays bullpen, particularly in long relief stints, and turned in 5.2 innings of scoreless ball in his only spot start of the season back on Apr. 16 versus the White Sox.
