Herrmann was sent to minor-league camp Friday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Herrmann was in camp as a non-roster invitee and always appeared to be a long shot to break camp with the team. He'll provide organizational depth as an extra catcher this season should Christian Vazquez (eye) or Kevin Plawecki miss significant time.
