The Reds recalled Garrett from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday to start in an afternoon game against the Cubs.
The southpaw was sent down on May 7 as the Reds continue an effort to manage his major-league innings. Garrett made just one appearance with the Bats, striking out every batter he faced in two frames last Friday. The Cubs pose a legit threat, which could pile on Garrett's recent growing pains that ballooned his ERA to 4.25. The former two-sport athlete is a fine pickup in deep mixed leagues, though, as a matchup play for better spots.
