Garrett was optioned to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday.
Outside of a disastrous start against the Brewers on April 24, Garrett has been a pleasant surprise in the Reds' starting rotation to begin the season. With two off days coming up for the Reds, the team will be able to deploy a four-man rotation in the near term while allowing them to return Garrett to Triple-A in order to manage his innings workload. It's likely that the 25-year-old will rejoin the Reds' rotation sooner than later.
