Garrett is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday to start against the Cubs, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Garrett is set to rejoin the Reds' rotation on Thursday after being sent back to Triple-A and making one appearance there. He struck out every batter he faced during the two-inning outing. We'll see how the 25-year-old fares in his second stint with the big-league club this year, as he spun a 4.25 ERA with a 28:14 K:BB through 36 innings (six starts) earlier in the year.
