Straily was claimed off waivers by the Reds on Friday, Jerry Crasnick of Baseball America reports.
Straily was placed on waivers by the Padres earlier Friday and already has a new club. The Reds have been crippled by injuries to their starting pitchers this spring, so there's a decent chance that Straily could find a spot in the Cincinnati rotation early in the season.
