Diaz (elbow) threw a bullpen session Friday, his first since undergoing Tommy John surgery this offseason, Nick Groke of The Denver Post reports.

Diaz progressed steadily through rehab this winter, and bullpen coach Darren Holmes noted the young reliever "looks healthy." The 25-year-old started strong in the Rockies' bullpen last year, posting a 2.37 ERA over 21 games before being sidelined with an elbow injury. Diaz is on pace for a return closer to May, but this is a positive step on the road back.
