Rockies' James Pazos: Designated for assignment

Pazos was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Monday.

Pazos spent the final month of the 2020 season at the Rockies' alternate training site, and he'll now be cast off the 40-man roster to make room for Justin Lawrence (suspension), who was reinstated in a corresponding move. Pazos had a career-best 1.74 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 2019, but he struggled over a limited sample in 2020 as he allowed 10 runs on 10 hits and five walks over 5.1 innings.
