Gray (foot) completed a 41-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. "Everything on the mound feels great," Gray said after the session. "I hadn't gripped a changeup in two weeks. And I threw two of them [Saturday] and they were the best I'd ever thrown."

Gray has been out since mid April with a stress fracture in his left foot that confined him to a walking boot for nearly six weeks. However, now that he's been cleared to get back on the mound, it may not take long before the right-hander rejoins the Rockies rotation. His side session went about as well as the Rockies could have hoped, as Gray used his full arsenal Saturday and felt he commanded his pitches well. Gray is expected to face hitters in the coming days before advancing to a rehab assignment.
