Cuthbert was optioned to Triple-A Omaha Monday, Josh Vernier of 610 AM reports.
Cheslor played 19 games for the Royals last year and recorded a .217 average over 46 plate appearances. This spring training, the 1B/3B infielder has made six plate appearances and connected on two hits for a .333 average. The 6-1 righty holds a career .259 average at the minor-league level so he will have to prove he can improve upon that before he is ready for a permanent call up to the big leagues.
