Kennedy (hamstring) will likely have his first start of the season pushed back to Saturday, April 9 against the Twins, Rustin Dodd of the Kansas City Star reports.

Kennedy was initially penciled in as the Royals' number two starter, but a hamstring injury late in spring training has forced manager Ned Yost to adjust his rotation. He was set to test out his hamstring earlier Friday, according to Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio, and he was confident going into the workout that he would be able to make his scheduled start Tuesday. However, either his hamstring is still not at 100 percent or the Royals are exercising extreme caution with their new starter because Chris Young is set to start Tuesday. Provided that Kennedy makes it through the next week with no setbacks, he should be on the hill for the first Saturday of the season.
