Twins' Lewis Thorpe: Begins throwing program

Thorpe (elbow) has begun a throwing program after missing a month with mono, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Thorpe was one of the Twins' top pitching prospects prior to needing Tommy John surgery back in March of 2015. The Twins are no doubt taking a cautious approach with Thorpe, but if his throwing program goes well, he could possibly be assigned to a full-season affiliate before the end of the season.
