The White Sox selected Wright's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday.
Wright will be back in the big leagues for the first time since 2019, when he logged 19 relief appearances between the Orioles and Mariners. After a stop in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2020, Wright returned stateside this winter and joined Chicago on a minor-league deal. While pitching in a tough home park in Charlotte, Wright has been a key cog in the Triple-A rotation this season, logging a 3.40 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 90:29 K:BB. Though Carlos Rodon (shoulder) remains on the injured list, Wright is initially expected to serve as a long reliever during his time with the White Sox, as manager Tony La Russa intends to stick with Reynaldo Lopez as the team's No. 5 starter for the time being.
