The Yankees and Cubs are nearing a deal that would send Chapman to Chicago, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.

As currently constructed, Chapman would be the only Yankee making the move to the north side of Chicago, while the Yankees would then take the next few days to see if they're able to make up ground in the American League playoff race before going all-in as sellers (or buyers) at the non-waiver trade deadline. Gleyber Torres is believed to be the top prospect involved as part of the package heading to the Bronx, but the full details of the trade will surface after the terms are finalized, perhaps later Monday.
