Barrett was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.
Barrett will take the bullpen spot which had belonged to Chance Adams, who was optioned in a corresponding move Sunday. Barrett appeared twice for the Yankees in early May, allowing six runs in 3.2 innings.
