Yankees' James Kaprielian: Hits minor league DL with elbow inflammation

Kaprielian has been placed on the 7-day DL with elbow inflammation, Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal reports.

An MRI taken Monday revealed the inflammation, but no timetable was given for Kaprielian's return to the mound. He's pitched well through three starts at High-A Tampa thus far, posting a 22:3 K:BB in 18 innings along with a 1.50 ERA and 0.61 WHIP. After rest, Kaprielian will begin a throwing program, but the Yankees released a statement indicating that their young pitcher will be treated conservatively.
