Bush (knee) is expected to start running in one week, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Bush's tenure with the 49ers got off to a rocky start after straining his calf in the season opener. The injury lingered through October, and he eventually suffered an ignominious knee injury in Week 8 at St. Louis, where he slipped on concrete at the conclusion of a punt return. After a diagnosis of MCL and meniscus tears in that knee, his season was over with just eight carries for 28 yards and four receptions (on 10 targets) for 19 yards in five games. Interested parties will likely put the soon-to-be 31-year-old through the ringer to ensure that he's progressing well in the expected 4-to-6 month recovery, and while he appears dead set on playing in 2016, in what capacity remains to be seen.
