49ers' Vance McDonald: Lands on IR

The 49ers have placed McDonald (shoulder) on IR.

McDonald started 11 games this season, en route to recording 24 receptions for a career-high 391 receiving yards. Having signed a five-year, $35 million contract extension with the 49ers on Friday, McDonald will be back with the team in 2017. Down the stretch, however, Garrett Celek and Blake Bell will handle the squad's tight end duties.
