Updating a previous report, Carpenter has not yet been released by the Bills, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports.
The team still has a lot of cap maneuvering to do and people that follow the Bills are well aware that coach Rex Ryan was less than thrilled with Carpenter's kicking last season - namely his league-"leading" six missed extra points - so Carpenter is far from a lock to stay with the team.
