Troubled wideout Da'Rick Rogers has been released by the Chiefs before the team was to begin minicamp.

Rogers pleaded guilty to a DUI in May and sentenced to one day in jail and six months probation.

The 23-year-old was active for only four games for Indianapolis a year ago and did not catch a pass. He snagged 14 for 192 yards as a rookie.

His production has indeed been disappointing considering he was one of the premier receivers in the SEC for Tennessee in 2011. But disciplinary issues forced him to leave that school for Tennessee Tech.

One reason the Chiefs let him go is the emergence of fellow wideout Chris Conley, who has been a pleasant surprise in practice.
