As unpredictable as Fantasy Football itself, Ty Montgomery has become the most talked-about player among the universe of people who play this fun game.

That's because the Packers' running back struggles have forced them to use the wide receiver out of the backfield over the last few games. He's lined up 72 times just like a running back in the 98 snaps he's had in his last two games.

This has created some controversy as to whether he should be classified as a wide receiver -- where he is listed in the Packers offense and on their official website -- or as a running back, which is basically the role he's in these days.

We at CBS Sports will neither enforce nor mandate changes to Montgomery's positional eligibility midseason in our prize or free leagues, as this would cause issues with invalidating drafts and rosters.

However, if you are playing in our fully-customizable Commissioner leagues, you have the power to move Montgomery to running back if you wish. It will just require a little bit of help from the commissioner of your league.

  • Simply have your league commissioner go to your team page.
  • Click on the red "C" icon at the top of the POS column on your roster page.
  • Select Montgomery and place him in your lineup as a running back.
  • Click the blue "Set Lineup" button at the top right of the page.
  • Congratulations! Montgomery is now a running back.

Our Commissioner product allows commissioners to customize their teams and leagues in a slew of ways, and one of them is offering the ability to play any player at any position. We do strongly recommend making sure it's OK with the rest of your league before turning Montgomery into a running back.

This is an odd situation, one we don't deal with often in Fantasy football. Luckily, our commissioner product gives you the flexibility to deal with it however you wish. With James Starks potentially a few weeks away and Don Jackson dealing with a hand injury, Montgomery could be a difference-maker in Fantasy.

With RB eligibility, he is even more attractive.
