The Steelers signed Martinez off the Panthers' practice squad Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Martinez announced his retirement from the NFL in November of last year but recently returned to the league, signing with Carolina's practice squad earlier this month. With all of the Steelers' linebacker injuries, Martinez will have a chance to carve out meaningful playing time right out of the gate.
