Novak agreed to re-sign with the Texans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Novak came through with what may have been a career-best season in 2016, converting a franchise-record 35 field goals for a Texans team that struggled to find the end zone. While Novak hasn't shown much prowess from distance in his career, he turned the corner last season, nailing 4-of-7 attempts from 50 yards or longer. The terms of his new contract with the Texans aren't yet known, but given that Novak is set to turn 36 in August, his deal likely doesn't include much guaranteed money.
