When I first saw the pricing and matchups on FanDuel this week I had a sneaking suspicion that ownership percentages were going to very closely correlate with my rankings.

I wasn't wrong.

Carson Palmer ($8,200) and Devonta Freeman ($8,700) were obvious plays this week who were also the most highly owned players at their position. While Freeman was 50 percent owned on Thursday night, I was actually pleasantly surprised to see Palmer at only 17 percent. I'm not deterred by him at all.

Todd Gurley ($7,400) and Larry Fitzgerald ($8,700) were my other two favorite obvious plays and they were the second highest owned players at their position. Both Gurley's 35 percent ownership and Fitzgerald's 28 percent are indicative of their great value. I'm not fading either.

That means we're going to need to get creative in other places in our lineup.

There are several wide receivers below 5 percent ownership that I really like this week. Odell Beckham Jr. ($9,000) has enormous upside and Michael Floyd ($4,900) has the same great matchup as Fitzgerald and John Brown ($6,700) but without the big ownership. Even guys like Brandin Cooks ($6,700) have turned into contrarian plays.

With Antonio Gates ($5,800) missing practice yet again don't hesitate to look at Ladarius Green ($5,100) against the Raiders. Travis Kelce ($6,000) makes a nice pivot as well and Jason Witten ($5,600) should see a ton of targets against a Giants team that is nearly as bad as the Raiders against tight ends. I have Gates in my cash lineup below but I've left enough money to easily pivot to Kelce if he's out.

If you do want to get contrarian at quarterback I would suggest Andrew Luck ($8,900) or Drew Brees ($8,400). Both were featured in less than 5 percent of Thursday lineups and have big upside in a great matchup.

In fact, I like that game in Indianapolis to be my favorite tournament double stack. I would involve T.Y. Hilton ($7,700), Donte Moncrief ($6,500), Cooks, and Willie Snead ($6,500) with both Brees and Luck.

There aren't a ton of contrarian running backs I like but I think Adrian Peterson ($8,900) is interesting. Peterson was only 4 percent owned, making him an excellent pivot off of Freeman. Latavius Murray ($7,000) is my favorite back in the Gurley price range but he isn't quite as sneaky.
