The Bruins won't attempt to re-sign Gustavsson in free agency, CSN New England reports.

While the Bruins could add veteran goaltending depth down the road, the team has an internal replacement candidate in Malcolm Subban, who will now have a chance to claim the No. 2 spot behind starter Tuukka Rask. In 24 games with Boston this past season, Gustavsson -- who turns 32 in October -- compiled a 2.72 GAA and .908 save percentage, while playing capably enough to earn a chance to compete for a backup role elsewhere in 2016-17.
