Lovejoy stayed put as the NHL trade deadline passed Wednesday.
Plenty of contenders were in the market for help on the blue line, and the Devils capitalized by dealing Kyle Quincey to Columbus for the younger Dalton Prout. Lovejoy remained untouched, however -- likely because he's in the first season of a three-year, $8 million deal. That's a hefty commitment for a 33-year-old who has contributed just six points in 62 games.
