Stalberg signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Hurricanes on Friday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Stalberg was used in a bottom-six role with the Rangers last season, averaging 12:12 of ice time. The 30-year-old winger collected 144 hits, but was an inconsistent offensive contributor, ending up with 20 points in 75 games. The Hurricanes were poor offensively last season, finishing 27th overall in goals scored, and the onus is now on Stalberg to give them a lift in that category. However, we wouldn't count on that happening given the lack of veteran playmakers in Carolina.
