Cross (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, per TSN.
Cross isn't expected to be a factor with the Panthers this year -- he last played in the NHL in 2015-16 with the Bruins. He had 21 points in 50 games with AHL Springfield last year. The 31-year-old Cross is organizational depth for the Panthers.
