Wiercioch (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, but was on the ice for the team's optional skate Wednesday, Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun reports.
Wiercioch suffered an upper-body injury in last Thursday's game against the Blue Jackets, and it cost him last Saturday's game. as well. There's been no clarification of the injury beyond upper-body, and there' been know signification of when he'll next rejoin the lineup. His next chance will come Saturday against the Coyotes, but there's no indication that will be the point and the Senators will have to activate him prior to him playing.
