100-year-old Pirates fan meets her favorite player: Andrew McCutchen
After seeing a local newspaper article on a 100-year-old Pirates fan, in which she mentioned her favorite player is Andrew McCutchen, the NL MVP and the Pirates found a way to get said 100 year old on the field for batting practice Monday.
Back in June, Pirates superstar Andrew McCutchen noticed in a local newspaper the following, from an announcement for Regen T. Green's 100th birthday: “She loves the Pittsburgh Pirates, especially Andrew McCutchen, casinos and spending time with loved ones.”
This prompted Cutch to post the following video to YouTube:
First, thanks for sparing us the full song. That's MVP-caliber decision-making. Second, it set in motion a chain of events that concluded with McCutchen bringing Green on the field for batting practice Monday night in PNC Park, which included Green and McCutchen getting a picture taken together (photo proof on CBS Pittsburgh).
Pretty awesome moment. Well done, McCutchen and all Pirates personnel who helped make it happen.
Now, when's the gathering at the nearest casino?
