Delmon Young to return to Tigers' lineup soon

Tigers manager Jim Leyland said Delmon Young won't start Friday when he returns from the restricted list, but he will be back in the lineup soon.

Delmon Young will be eligible to return from the restricted list on Friday, but he won't be in the lineup that night against the White Sox, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said on Tuesday. However, Leyland added he wouldn't be hesitant to put Young in the game if needed and expects him to return to the lineup soon.

"I think he'll be in there very shortly, but I want him to get back acclimated for a day," Leyland told reporters (via MLive.com). "It's not like he's been off that long, so I think you'll see him in the lineup real soon, but he will not be in the lineup to start Friday.

Young was suspended seven days by Major League Baseball retroactive to Friday, when he was arrested in New York.
