You're familiar with the Noah Syndergaard saga by now. The radar gun-busting right-hander declined the team's request to undergo an MRI on his sore biceps, and then he wound up being forced from his next start because of injury. That injury turned out to be a torn lat muscle, and as a result Syndergaard is going to miss a large chunk of the season.
So does Thor have any regrets about his recent baseball choices? To the Twitter machine ...
“I don’t regret it at all,” Noah Syndergaard says about making his last start. “Something weird just happened."

Well, what's happened has happened, so regrets are kind of pointless.
As for Syndergaard's eventual return to the Mets' rotation, it's an uncertain thing. Syndergaard says he's looking at six weeks of not throwing at all (source: Zach Braziller via Twitter). And then there's the matter of stretching out, facing hitters, probably making a couple of minor-league rehab appearances, and otherwise getting ready to face big-league hitters for keeps. That's going to take some time.
How much time? Well ...
"We don't know when he's going to be back," Sandy Alderson says about Syndergaard. He'll need to "revamp" back up after 6 weeks w/o throwing

It's going to take so much time it's not worth speculating about at this point. As for the Mets, they also have Steven Matz and Seth Lugo on the DL, and they open play on Saturday a hefty 6 1/2 games behind the Nationals in the NL East.
