Hey, everyone has now played a home game! The MLB season is officially official, right? Let's take a look at some quick hitting news items from the day that was.

ROSTER NEWS

Braves: Ervin Santana will start Wednesday, so expect him to be activated officially.

Dodgers: Josh Beckett is expected to be activated and make his first start of the season Wednesday (latimes.com).

Pirates: Reliever Vin Mazzaro cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A. He has three days to accept or reject the assignment.

Rangers: Colby Lewis will return to the rotation Saturday.

Reds: Jonathan Broxton -- who will close until Aroldis Chapman is back -- was activated.

INJURY UPDATES

Angels: Reliever Brian Moran needs Tommy John surgery (Alden Gonzalez). Also, Josh Hamilton departed Tuesday's game with a left thumb injury.

Braves: After getting three opinions, reliever Cory Gearrin has finally decided to get Tommy John surgery, the club announced. Also, Mike Minor threw 65 pitches in his rehab start Tuesday, so he's getting pretty close to a return.

Giants: Jeremy Affeldt (knee) has declared himself healthy and will begin his rehab assignement (Janie McCauley).

Mariners: James Paxton left the game early Tuesday with a strained left lat muscle.

Marlins: Jacob Turner won't start Wednesday due to a shoulder strain he suffered in batting practice (Clark Spencer).

Nationals: Ryan Zimmerman has an arthritic shoulder and could see some time at first base.

Phillies: Cole Hamels believes he can return to the rotation after two more rehab starts.

Orioles: J.J. Hardy (back issue) believes he'll be ready to start Wednesday (Britt Ghiroli).

Rangers: Adrian Beltre is headed back to Texas to have his balky quad looked at. He may only miss one game (Emily Jones). Matt Harrison (back) has his next rehab start scheduled for Sunday.

Rays: Matt Moore is on the DL with an arm injury and he's headed to a visit with Dr. James Andrews.

Reds: Mat Latos (recovering from knee surgery) now has elbow inflammation and will be pushed back a few days before his next rehab start (John Fay).

Royals: Omar Infante has a jaw sprain after being hit in the face with a pitch.

Tigers: Torii Hunter ran into an outfield wall pretty hard in Dodger Stadium and eventually had to leave the game with a bruised knee.

MISCELLANY

Giants: Extension talks with Pablo Sandoval have been cut off (csnbayarea.com).

Yankees: Who is the Yankees closer with David Robertson on the shelf? "That's a great question," said manager Joe Girardi (ESPN New York).
