Minnesota has optioned Liam Hendriks to Triple-A and recalled starting pitcher Cole De Vries, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reported.

Hendriks went four innings in Monday's start against Detroit, allowing four earned runs on six hits and four walks. The effort rose his ERA to 7.04. Although the righty has a respectable 2.3 K/BB ratio, opposing batters have clubbed 10 home runs in just eight starts.

De Vries, an undrafted prospect, last pitched in the majors June 30 against the Royals, allowing one run on five hits over six innings. He has a 3.43 ERA in 21 big-league innings but has allowed five home runs in his four starts.
